Affordable Travel Destinations: Redditors Reveal Where They  Vacation With a $1500 Budget

A Reddit user posted asking the question, “If you had $1500 to travel, what foreign country would you go and see”.

How to travel cheaply is one of the things that we should all learn. Air tickets and accommodation can eat up a huge chunk of your travel money, and looking from the comments, some people had some interesting options, while others say would not have done much with $1500.

Redditors Top Choices: How Do People Afford to Travel?

One of the top comments said, “I am in Canada. $15000 wouldn’t get me a ticket out of Canada.” Another user, however, replied to this comment saying, “You can easily get out of Canada for this much, you just can’t travel IN Canada.”

Another comment said, “You can totally travel with that budget but it would be tight. I went to Paris for a week from Kansas, USA, but I was staying in hostels. The biggest expense will be the flight. I recommend traveling off season and looking for one ways to nearby cities to find good prices. Then, be patient. It took me 6 months of checking everyday to find a $500 flight to paris. An unforgettable trip though.”

Another comment said, “ Seems like a lot of people based in North America can’t do much with that amount. Me being from Scandinavia, I could easily fly to any country in Europe with that amount. I could even fly to the east coast of US, North Africa, and most Asian countries.

Another, hilariously said, “ With that budget, I would fly to Germany and  never come back.”  Now it is not clear to me if he loves Germany so much he would like to stay there forever, or if he would have no budget to come back.

A comment that caught my attention said, “Life hack is to fly into Ireland from the US/Canada and then take low budget airlines like Ryanair onto your actual destination in Europe. Might have to stay a night in Ireland to get it to work but pretty cool place to stay.”

Another said, “Contrary to most of the responses here, I think that in Europe this kind of money can be more than enough for a wonderful vacation. One of my top picks would be one or more of the following: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia or the -stan countries, and with $1500 you could stay in a good hotel for like 10 days with all expenses included.Likewise, you could probably take a nice trip to France or Spain, although you could probably stay up to 6-7 days comfortably. Some other options could include Morocco, Tunisia, or Baltic countries on the opposite. It really depends on the location, though. If SEA countries were closer to Europe (or if the flights were cheaper), those would also be high on my list.
